Winchfield Parish Council met on 12 August with our Member of Parliament, Alex Brewer, accompanied by our Hampshire County Councillor Richard Quarterman, to discuss the impact that the presumption in favour of sustainable development is having on the likes of Hart District Council now faced with multiple major planning applications as they endeavour to update their Local Plans. WPC was pleased to understand that our MP is engaging actively with the Minister of State for Housing to raise awareness of the problem and to seek legislative or policy changes to address the issue. We also discussed the challenges that seem to be growing with the provision of fresh water and the removal of sewage for major new developments in the general area. We will continue to update our MP about the most significant issues we identify as we prepare our responses to the Murrell Green application and the update to the Hart District Local Plan.
