Excess waste and recycling
We’ll collect extra waste on the first collection after Christmas. Please leave it next to your black bin.
You can leave excess recycling out at any time next to your recycling bin. This should be in a CLEAR bin bag, apart from large cardboard which should be flattened, clean, dry and loose.
We provide glass collection crates free of charge for kerbside collection of glass. If you don’t have a crate to make use of this service, you can request glass crates online and use this service once they are delivered. You can also have multiple crates for collection if needed.
What can you recycle from Christmas?
Please don’t put shredded paper in your recycling bin. We will take greetings cards and gift tags in recycling but only if these don’t have glitter on and please remove any sticky tape or ribbon. Also please make sure cards containing batteries don’t end up in the bin.
Wrapping paper cannot be recycled, unless it is plain brown paper. Wrapping paper is often dyed, laminated and/or contains non-paper additives such as gold and silver-coloured shapes, glitter, and plastics, which cannot be recycled.
Don’t forget to recycle your small electricals!
New electric toothbrush for Christmas? Hand blender finally given up? Don’t forget you can leave small electricals out for collection with either of your bins. Place them in a plastic bag on top of the bin to be picked up. |
