Your chance to help shape Devolution plans

Give your feedback on the proposals for a Mayoral Combined Authority for the Hampshire and Solent region.

Published: 11 April 2025

The clock’s ticking to have a say on once-in-a-generation Devolution proposals for Hampshire and the Solent region in the Government’s public consultation.

Go online before 11.59pm on Sunday 13 April to give your feedback on the idea of having a Mayoral Combined Authority for the Hampshire and Solent region covering the local government areas of Hampshire County Council, Portsmouth City Council, Isle of Wight Council, and Southampton City Council.

What is Devolution?

Devolution is about transferring powers and funding from national to local government. It will enable more decisions to be made locally, closer to the residents and businesses affected, to help drive economic growth, innovation, and productivity – while improving people’s quality of life and spearheading the UK’s economic recovery in the coming years.
